Buku Cares – Our Public Service Division

We are proud to announce our new public service division, BUKU CARES.  All of our community service projects including our on-going commitment to adoption awareness and youth education through theatre and media arts, will be coordinated through our BUKU CARES division.  Our extremely dedicated BUKU CARES staff is focused exclusively on our community service projects.  This division’s commission affords us the opportunity to expand our reach to serve Southeast Michigan’s underserved because of its singular focus on public service.  BUKU CARES contributes to the educational, cultural and social development of Detroit area youth with partners like Homes for Black Children adoption services.  With the help of adoption services partners, we work hard to bring awareness to the need for prospective parents to “Consider Adoption As A Viable Option.”

All Buku Productions Theatre Company presentations will be assisted by BUKU CARES to recruit Detroit area youth as volunteers or (with corporate contributions) paid Interns through the AS I SAY AND DO theatre apprenticeship program.  And through the PAYING A CHILD’S WAY TO THE PLAY ticket underwriting campaign, we donate FREE tickets to At-Risk youth, Adoptive Children in Foster Care and youth who have Aged-Out of the Foster Care system.  In 2016/2017, our spotlighted public service project is a fundraising campaign for THE ANGEL HOUSE in support of female victims of Domestic Violence and their children.

Please help us fulfill the mission of the BUKU CARES division:

“Buku Helps, Buku Heals, Buku Cares.”
